Mechanics
In mechanics you remember principles, formulas for forces, moments and energy, with their units. Lumi has you recall them so you can set up a problem without hunting for the law.

How to turn this subject into cards
Mechanics asks you to remember a small number of principles and apply them to many situations. Make a card set per principle (dynamics, energy, moments), with its statement, formula, units and conditions. Add a method card, isolate the system, draw the free-body diagram, choose axes, write the equation. The classic trap is forgetting a force or a sign, which no card fixes alone. Lumi quizzes you on the principles and on the order of the steps. Quizzing instead of rereading gave a lasting advantage in a classic study (Roediger and Karpicke, 2006).

Newton’s second law says the resultant force equals mass times acceleration. A body is in equilibrium when the net force and the net moment are both zero. The moment of a force is the force times its perpendicular distance from the pivot. Work done equals force times the distance moved in the direction of the force. Power is measured in watts.
