Geometry
In geometry you need theorems, area and volume formulas and the properties of shapes at your fingertips. Lumi has you recall them until they are ready the moment you look at a diagram.

How to turn this subject into cards
In geometry, separate what you memorise from what you draw. You memorise theorems, their conditions, area, perimeter and volume formulas, and the criteria for similar or congruent shapes. You draw the constructions, and you have to redo those on paper. The common trap is applying a theorem without checking its condition, for example assuming two lines are parallel or a triangle is right-angled because the diagram suggests it. Lumi asks for the full statement with its conditions. It helps you remember definitions, formulas and theorems. Free recall brings a bigger benefit than recognition questions (Rowland, 2014).

The area of a circle of radius r is pi r squared. The angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. The circumference of a circle is 2 pi r. The volume of a sphere is four thirds pi r cubed. The sine rule says a over sin A equals b over sin B.
