Literature
In literature you remember authors, works, dates, movements and the quotations that serve as evidence. Lumi asks them back, while the analysis and the essay remain yours to write.

How to turn this subject into cards
Make one note per work, with the author, the date, the genre, the movement, the central theme and one or two short quotations. Lumi quizzes those elements and the definitions of genres, registers and techniques. The typical trap is remembering the plot summary without being able to quote a passage or place the work. So learn two quotations per work and the date. Lumi fixes the references and quotations that back up your analysis. Because you produce the answer yourself, active recall works better than rereading (Roediger and Karpicke, 2006).
