Licence (university bachelor’s)

The licence is a three-year university bachelor’s. Lumi helps you retain lectures before the partiels, without rereading everything in the last week.

In short

The licence is the first university cycle, over three years, L1, L2 and L3. It runs by semesters, with lectures, tutorials and exams called partiels, usually in January and in May or June. It awards the licence degree. Afterwards you can go on to a master’s, enter a school, or, with a professional licence, aim for a job. You have far more autonomy than at the lycée.

What goes on your cards

In a licence, cards serve for definitions, dates and court decisions in law, models and formulas in economics, notions in literature, history, psychology or sociology, and standard proofs in science. Lumi helps you keep the lectures in memory.

A study rhythm

Partiels fall in January and again in May or June, so start sessions at least four to six weeks before, with gaps that grow (Cepeda et al., 2006). Add cards after each lecture, not at the end of the semester. A twenty-minute session a day holds better than three hours the night before. See Does cramming the night before an exam work?.
