SAT and ACT
The SAT and the ACT are the two standardized tests used for US college admission. Lumi helps with what can be memorized, not with speed, which you build with timed practice tests.
In short
The SAT and the ACT test reading, writing and math, and the ACT has a science section in some versions. They let colleges compare applicants from different high schools. Many US colleges ask for or accept them, others do not require them, so check the policy of each school you apply to. A student from abroad applying to the US often takes one of the two. The formats have changed in recent years, so read the official description before you practice.
What goes on your cards
These are mostly tests of reasoning and speed, built up with timed practice tests. It helps with the memorizable part, like English grammar rules, math formulas, vocabulary and the list of traps you keep falling into. Put each mistake from a practice test on a card, with the rule that explains it.
A study rhythm
Alternate two rhythms. Timed practice tests every week or two, and short card sessions in between. Pick your test date and plan backward from it.
