Spanish
When Spanish is a foreign language, you memorise vocabulary, conjugations and grammar rules. Lumi asks them back as gap sentences, while speaking and understanding need real practice.

How to turn this subject into cards
Make one note per vocabulary list, irregular conjugation or rule, such as ser against estar, the subjunctive or agreement. Lumi quizzes these as gap sentences and makes you produce the word. For vocabulary, retesting a word you already know has more effect than studying it again (Karpicke and Roediger, 2008). The typical trap is recognising a word when you read it without being able to bring it out when you speak. Write or say the answer before checking. Lumi fixes the basic material you build on.
